Cristina de Middel

(Alicante, Spain - 1975)

With the Afronauts series released as a selfpublished photobook in 2012, Cristina de Middel was aclaimed by the critics and the book was quickly sold out. She won prices and since she has been working in many series. She entered Magnum Photo agency in 2016 and won the Premio Nacional de Fotografia 2017 in Spain.

The Afronauts series were inspired by a project of 1964 Zambian Space Program and the series have been aquired by the Tate.
